The Department of Computer Science, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Amritapuri Campus is organizing a two day national level workshop on Internet of Things (IoT) from October 18 to 19, 2016.

First time in India get an IIT Certificate for IoT- Internet Of Things Workshop. This great year TECHNEX ‘17, IIT VARANASI in collaboration with Innovians Technologies, Noida is organizing a series of IoT- Internet of Things Workshop for Engineering students across the nation in 20 different Zonal Centers. Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri Campus is one of the Zonal Centers for the event. This total Event is divided into 3 Rounds:

Round 1

  • The workshops will be organized in Amrita School of Engineering on October 18 and 19, 2016.
  • The workshop will be organized by Innovians Technologies, Noida ( Workshop Partner – Technex ’17, IIT Varanasi) 
  • Students will get Certificate of Merit from TECHNEX ‘17, IIT VARANASI & Innovians Technologies.
 

Round 2 (Competition at Zonal Center)

  • On 19 th October, a Competition based on workshop will be organized at Amritapuri Campus.
  • Two Winning teams will get Certificate of Excellence from TECHNEX ‘17, IIT VARANASI in association with Innovians Technologies.
 

Round 3 (Final Round Competition during Technex'17 at IIT Varanasi) 

  • A Final Round competition will held at Technex'17 IIT Varanasi among all the Zonal Centre winning teams during 24-26 February, 2017 and winning team will get Certificate of Excellence & Prizes. All the Shortlisted Teams will have to present one IoT Based Project during Technex'17 at IIT Varanasi.

What is Internet of Things?

It’s a global network infrastructure, linking physical and virtual objects using cloud computing, data capture, and network communications. It allows devices to communicate with each other, access information on the Internet, store and retrieve data, and interact with users, creating smart, pervasive and always-connected environments.

The Internet of Things (IoT), sometimes referred to as the Internet of Objects, will change everything— including ourselves. This may seem like a bold statement, but consider the impact the Internet already has had on education, communication, business, science, government, and humanity. Clearly, the Internet is one of the most important and powerful creations in all of human history. Now consider that Internet of Things represents the next evolution of the Internet, taking a huge leap in its ability to gather, analyse, and distribute data that we can turn into information, knowledge, and, ultimately, wisdom. In this context, Internet of Things becomes immensely important.

  • Using the Bluetooth Module

Project 4: Voice Controlled Mini Home Automation using Android Smartphone 
Project 5: Control Devices using Localhost Web Server for Home Automation.

  • Creating Program for Localhost Web Server for controlling devices.
 

Day 2

Project 6: Creating own Android App using MIT App Inventor & controlling Arduino connected devices.
Project 7: Being Social on Twitter & update status on Twitter through Arduino

  • Make Electronics Gadget Talk to Internet
  • Integrating Ethernet Module
  • Creating App on Twitter

Project 8: Send Voltage & Analog Data on Cloud Server.

  • Cloud Computing
  • Communicating with the Cloud using Web Services.
  • Cloud Computing & IoT.
  • Popular Cloud Computing Services for Sensor Management.

Project 9: Use Arduino to Upload free data from Environmental Sensors to Cloud Server.
Project 10: Automatically Tweet Sensor Data on Twitter.
Project 11: Receive Automatic Call Notification on Mobile Phone for Burglar Alarm using IoT Platform. 
Project 12: Control Electronic Devices from anywhere across the world using Internet & Mobile App.

Duration: The duration of this workshop will be two consecutive days (18-19 October), with 6-7 hour session each day in a total of 12-14 hours.

Eligibility:  The are no prerequisites for joining this workshop. Any one interested, can join this workshop. While a basic C Programming would be helpful, it is not compulsory. Student from Electronics, Electrical, CS/IT any branch student can attend this workshop.

Certification Policy:

  • Certificate of Merit for all the workshop participants from Innovians Technologies & Technex'17, IIT Varanasi.
 

Poster Presentation

 As part of the event, we are conducting a poster presentation on 17-19 October 2016. Poster presentation details are furnished herewith. You can register for poster presentation through "Register Online" webform.

 

 

  1. Maximum of 4 members per group allowed.
  2. Complete the registration process for group.
  3. Group should have a group name.
  4. Group members should be amritans
  5. Submission deadline is on October 15,2016
  6. Submissions have to be in the prescribed template in pdf format
  7. Groups are suggested to keep ready with the posters for their proposals.
  8. Best twenty posters will be called for poster exhibition on October 17,during workshop conducted by  IIT  Varanasi at Amritapuri.
  9. Best three posters will receive the Cash prizes

  1. Important information should be readable from about 10 feet away
  2. Title is short and draws interest
  3. Word count of about 300 to 800 words
