National Symposium on Green Electronics
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering Coimbatore campus, organized a two day National Symposium on Green Electronics sponsored by Honeywell from December 12-13, 2014. Mr. Chandramouleeswaran Sankaran, Director, Engineering, Honeywell Technology Solutions Lab Pvt. Ltd. inaugurated the symposium.
The symposium focused on the development of Green Technology, which deals with designs, devices and systems that have a positive impact on the environment. The areas covered during the symposium were Nanomaterials, Nano Electronics, Medical Electronics, Low Power VLSI and Wireless Communication systems. Various sessions were handled by professors from IISc, IIT, NIT, scientists from government, private research organizations and industries.
Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, Head of Univ Relations, Texas Instruments spoke about the Importance of Energy Management in New Era.
Mr. Sirish Batchu, Head of Infotronics Technology & Advanced Electronics, Automotive and Farm Sectors, Mahindra Research Valley made a presentation on Electronics for a Greener Mobility.
Mr. Ilangovan, enArka Instruments Pvt. Ltd spoke on Green Technology Trends - Present & Near-Term.
The day two of the symposium witnessed a series of lectures by experts, Dr. S.Raghavan, Professor, NIT, Trichy, Dr. K. R. Suresh Nair, Chief Technology Officer, NeSt Group, Dr. A. Ramakalyan, Associate Professor, NIT, Trichy and Dr. Somnath Chanda Roy, Assistant Professor, IIT Madras.
The symposium was attended by 75 participants, which included 34 non-Amritians and 41 participants from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Certificates were distributed to all participants.
