The Department of Pediatric Genetic, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), Kochi and Kerala Association Neurologists (KAN), is organizing an event “Rare Disease Day” on February 28, 2016.
The last day of February is commemorated every year across the globe as also in India as the “Rare Disease Day.” The 2016 Rare Disease Day theme “Patient’s Voice” pays tribute to the patients, families and caregivers who are impacted by rare diseases, and the slogan “Join us in making the voice of rare disease being heard” evokes the thoughts towards the challenges faced by patients and their care givers. The department of Pediatric Genetics in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), Kochi and Kerala Association of Neurologists (KAN) along with state patient advocacy group are joining forces to find common solutions, care, resources and services in solidarity with all stakeholders – caregivers, healthcare professionals, specialized social services, researchers, pharmaceutical companies, policy makers, and regularly bodies.
With this in mind, the department is commemorating this event on February 28 (Sunday), as per the following details:
