The School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, conducted a camp, Sharath Virechana 2018, from October 1-15, 2018. The time given for open registration was 15 days. The camp registration started on October 1, 2018, and closed on October 15, 2018 The total registrations were 19. Out of these, 12 subjects successfully complete the course. On the other hand, 6 subjects were completely dropped out before starting the treatment and 1 subject got dropped out after starting due to their personal reasons. These 7 subjects were given the refund of their registration fee.
The medicine used for deepanapachana was trikatuchoorna, for snehapanamurchitaghrita was used and the virechanaoushadhi was abhayadivati (small, medium and large).10 L of ghee was used for the preparation of murchitaghrita. 7.5 litres of murchitaghrita was obtained for the camp. Ghritamurchana started on October 15 and completed on October 17.
The camp treatment started on October 5, 2018. The climate was very dry and hot during the day time and very cold at night and early morning. Out of 12 subjects, 6 were identified as madhyamakoshta, 3 mridu kosha and 2krurakoshta. 3 subjects got pakwamala within 3 days, 7 got within 5 days and 2 subjects took 7 and 10 days respectively. 8 subjects got pravara score for snehapana and 4 got madhyama score. None of them got any complications during snehapana. Out of 12 subjects,7 subjects attained avarashudhi and 5 attained madhamashudhi. None of the subjects got any complications after the completion of the course. After the shodhana procedure, the subjects were given samsarjana according to the shudhi attained. Qol of the subjects were recorded before the camp and 6 months after the camp.
