Shishyopanayanam 2015: Induction Ceremony of Amrita School of Ayurveda UG& PG Programs
Shishyopanayanam- 2015, the official induction ceremony of Amrita School of Ayurveda for newly joined under and post graduate students was conducted from August 17-18, 2015. The event began with a Dhanwantari Homam early in the morning, which invoked the blessings of almighty and our beloved Amma, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. The Homa was continued with Amma’s Bhajans, which completely changed the entire ambiance.
Students accompanied by their parents participated in the entire function. Gurus tied a sacred induction thread on to the hands of newly joined students to auspiciously accept them as Shishyas representing the traditional rituals. It was later followed by a relishing breakfast and introductory classes by Br. Sankar Chaithanya, Director, Amrita School of Ayurveda.
The official function of induction ceremony began on the next day in the auspicious presence of Poornamritananda Swamiji, who blessed the occasion with his graceful presence and inspiring words of wisdom. The chief guest for the function was Padma Shri. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Vice Chancellor, Gujarat Ayurveda University. A man who defines himself in terms of simplicity, the honorable vice chancellor addressed the students explaining the scope and diversity of learning Ayurveda. He also expressed his happiness to realize the presence of alumini from his own Gujarat Ayurved University as teaching faculty in Amrita School of Ayurveda. The function also had a wonderful deliberation from Dr. Ram Manohar.
The program was concluded by Dr. Rabinarayan Tripathy, Vice Principal, Amrita School of Ayurveda, by delivering vote of thanks for everyone in making the event a real success. For the newly joined scholars, the event was one of its kind and a memory for lifetime.
