As a part of the anniversary celebrations of the CDS unit of Vazhoor panchayat, the Department of Stri Roga and Prasuti Tantra of Amrita School of Ayurveda was requested to conduct a speciality diagnostic medical camp on June 21, 2019, at Community Welfare Hall Vazhoor.
191 patients attended the camp with various gynaecological complaints like cystocele, infections. menstrual irregularities, white discharge. infertility, urinary incontinence and other general complaints. Almost 40 patients from this have participated in gynecologicologic speciality examinations like perspeculum and pervaginal examinations. The OP was headed by Dr. Hemavathi S. K. (Professor and HOD, Department of Stri Roga and Prasuti Tantra, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri).
The team consisted of Dr. Anjaly M. Y. and Dr. Parvathy Unnikrishnan, Assistant Professors of the Department of Stri Roga and Prasuti Tantra, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, and PG Scholars from the department with the support of other staffs. Three examination halls were set up which was managed by PG scholars of the department with house surgeons and nursing staffs. The Amrita Life and IP pharmacy of the Hospital supported the camp by providing needed medicines which were offered free of cost to the patients. House surgeons of the department managed the registration and pharmacy duties.
The camp gave an opportunity for the students to gain experience and see different cases.
