Vidyut is the annual techno-management fest of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham,one of the fast growing institutions of higher learning in India. Vidyut acts as a platform for students across the country to showcase their talents through technically-challenging events. It is a three day long tech-festival held between January- February.
It features events from the domains of engineering, management and biotechnology. The festival receives an external participation of 4500 students from all over India. Vidyut aims to provide the students with a platform to gain exposure to new technologies and innovation at a national level. The festival holds an array of workshops, seminars, invited talks by professionals and experts in the industry. The events on each day concludes with a cultural pro-show.
This year the theme for the festival is 'Technology for Humanity; integrating Smart Villages in India'. Vidyut plans to help the society and present with solutions to eradicate the problems faced by the people; so the events planned are inline with this ideology. The plan this year is to hold 24 events, 4 flagship events, 3 online events, 4 gaming events, paper presentations and exhibitions,Along with the events there are workshops certified by Texas Instruments, SAE, IEEE, Amrita TBI, Amrita Cyber Security and Amrita ICTS.The exhibition is to create a halo of a smart village to give an idea to the people about the various technologies that can be employed in order to make life in villages better. This will include exhibitions by the students as well as some pioneers in the field of technology like ISRO, RRL, NTPC.
