Amrita Center for Wireless Network & Applications will be hosting a free webinar on Career Opportunities in Geoinformatics on July 4, 2020, 10AM onwards through Microsoft Teams. Dr. Tarek Rashed, Professor and Consultant in Geoinformatics & Visiting Professor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will be delivering the session. The webinar is open to all students from science and engineering background.
Geoinformatics is an applied science and technology which applies the infrastructure of various disciplines to address the problems in the world. The webinar highlights the scope and career opportunities in Geoinformatics pertaining to its wide growing applications in various fields and sectors of society. The session is designed to involve B.Tech / MSc/ MA. students in exploring the applied aspects of Geoinformatics. It will introduce them to the potential of geospatial technology. They will be provided with detailed methodology, available resources, softwares and content related to spatial data collection, analysis, modeling and visualization. It will end with a question and answer session with Dr. Tarek Rashed who is a US based world renowned expert, with both research and industrial experience. It will benefit students who want to take higher studies and become GIS professionals.
Dr. Tarek Rashed is a Visiting Professor at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. He is also a Consultant in Geoinformatics and serves as a Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Civilizology LLC, a private research and development company headquartered in Wyoming, USA. He is also a former Senior Research Professor and Director of Geoinformatics at Indiana University, Bloomington, USA.
The Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA) is a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary Center for teaching and research at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kollam campus. Launched in 2006, Amrita WNA began as a R&D Center with the vision of promoting, developing, and applying the use of wireless technologies in a variety of fields that would benefit society.
