The Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (AmritaWNA), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, will host a Webinar on Next-Generation Internet of Things – A Deeper Lookby Dr. Sathyanarayana Vuppala on January 29, 2021.
The Next-Generation Internet of Things (NG-IoT) is poised to be the hand that will deliver the most profound transformation our society has ever seen, far greater than what we have already experienced with the raise of the mobile Internet. NG-IoT combines modern technologies such as 5G, robotics, virtual and augmented reality (VAR), artificial intelligence (AI), advanced human-to-machine interfacing (HMI) and more to enable anyone to take full advantage of the enormous repository of knowledge (rich behavioral intelligence) of the Internet. NG-IoT proposes new access mechanisms that will deliver not only information but also action via everything we interact with. Specifically, in this talk, we discuss the applicability and context of 5G, AI and Cybersecurity technologies on NG-IoT. We will also cover interoperability, compatibility/flexibility and security technologies in the areas of access, connectivity and data/signal management/processing for the next generation IoT with emerging use-cases.
Dr. Satyanarayana Vuppala is currently Senior Research Scientist at United Technologies Research Center, Ireland. He held various research positions at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust, University of Luxembourg, University of Edinburgh and Jacobs University. He also serves as a Visiting Faculty at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
He received the Bachelor of Technology degree with distinction in Computer Science and Engineering from JNTU Kakinada, India, in 2009, and the Master of Technology degree in Information Security from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India, in 2011. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Jacobs University Bremen, Germany in Jan, 2015.
He has authored more than 70 publications in refereed international journals and conferences. His research interests are on cyber physical security, interenet of things, content delivery networks, wireless communications with particular focus on 5G. He also works on physical, access, and network layer aspects of wireless security.
