The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Coimbatore campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham organized a workshop titled Advances in Signal and Image Processing during May 30 – June 2, 2012.

he main focus of this workshop is to provide an opportunity for a multidisciplinary group of academic and industrial researchers, scientists, mathematicians, leading engineers, professionals, scholar students, to exchange and share their research ideas in the areas of signal and image processing. The workshop provides as introduction to emerging topics with required insight into mathematical concepts in signal and image processing.

Inaugural Address by Dr. R. Krishnan Head, Engineering Research Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was thought provoking. He shared his knowledge on “Issues in high resolution Image Analysis” from his experience in Advanced Data Processing Research Institute (ADRIN). He conveyed ideas on Image science an evolving field.
