Workshop on Applications of MATLAB in Civil Engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore Campus is organizing a one day workshop on Applications of MATLAB in Civil Engineering on September 16, 2015.
This workshop is being organized with the objective of helping faculty members, researchers, professionals and students to acquire fundamental knowledge of concepts of MATLAB, which is a high-level language and interactive environment that enables you to perform computationally intensive tasks faster than with traditional programming languages such as C, C++, and FORTRAN. This workshop is intended for the broader academic community who seeks to explore the impact of MATLAB in the industry and Academics. It is designed to develop a strong working knowledge of MATLAB, and to help students write efficient, compact programs to solve civil engineering problems of varying complexity. This workshop covers basic concepts of MATLAB and its applications in various areas of Civil engineering. The goal of the workshop is to provide theoretical and practical introduction to MATLAB, MATLAB functions and make the participants confident enough to write simple MATLAB programs. The workshop is designed to be approximately 80 % lab training. The class size is limited, to maximize one-on one interaction.
