The UNESCO Chair in Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment and the Department of Social Work, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, hosted a special talk and Workshop on “Coping Strategies in Trauma Situations” on March 28, 2019. The session was led by Dr. Nirmala Devi, Former Head of the Department of Yoga & Consciousness, Andhra University Visakhapatnam.
The workshop covered topics including the definition, science and symptoms of trauma, as well as how to deal with traumatic situations.
The session concluded with a discussion on ‘Child Trafficking-Detection & Prevention’. The workshop was geared towards both Ph. D. researchers and MSW students from the Center.
