The department of Civil Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore campus is organizing a two-day workshop on Fracture Mechanics of Concrete- A Workshop on the Basic Concepts, Fracture Models, Test Protocols and Potential Applications, from January 11-12, 2016.
This workshop is being organized with the objective of helping faculty members, researchers, professionals and students to acquire fundamental knowledge of concepts of fracture mechanics of concrete and their application for specialized fields. The goal of the workshop is to provide participants with the opportunity to learn about various Fracture mechanics models available for concrete and different lab tests to study fracture parameters of concrete. The class size is limited, to maximize the one-on-one interaction.
The workshop is aimed at the multifaceted audiences from industries, academics, researchers, PG & UG Students.
Vellore S. Gopalaratnam, Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia, USA is a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute and is a registered Professional Engineer in Missouri.
The course starts with an overview of the Basic Concepts of Fracture Mechanics for Concrete Materials and then proceeds to Fracture Models for Concrete Materials, Concrete Fracture Properties- Test Protocols, Potential Applications and Materials Engineering.
