The Department of Mathematics, Amrita School of Engineering, Ettimadai, Coimbatore is Workshop on Interconnection Networks from April 24-28, 2017. The conference will provide a platform to study basic Interconnection networking.

Interconnection networks are designed for use at different levels within and across computer systems to meet the operational demands of various application areas. Interconnection problems occur at different levels in the hardware and software design of communicating entities in integrated circuits, multiprocessor, multicomputer, and communication networks as diverse as telephone systems, cable network systems, computer networks, mobile communication networks, satellite network systems, the Internet and biological systems. Depending on the number of devices to be connected and their proximity, we can group interconnection networks into four major networking domains:

1. On-chip networks (NoCs)
2. System/storage area networks (SANs)
3. Local area networks (LANs)
4. Wide area networks (WANs)
