The Center for Computational Engineering and Networking, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore organized a workshop on “Introduction to Hardware Software co-design using Zed board" on September 20, 2015. Hardware software co-design is a new paradigm that is catching up in the development sphere. This is because now there are more and more people who want to build or understand the whole development stack. This was a difficult task till some time back, but thanks to new development boards like Zedboard and software like Vivado from Xilinx, we have a complete kit to explore and master this co-design paradigm. This is not only going to help single full stack hw/sw developers but also companies who want to improve their time to market. The workshop included an introduction to Zedboard and Vivado software stack, followed by few demos of simple applications running in this environment.
