The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore conducted a Workshop on Real Time System Implementation using LABVIEW with Arduino on March 28, 2017.
Real time control is necessary for smooth and efficient system control. This workshop targets demonstration of LabVIEW for real time operation and control of systems. Real time control is necessary for smooth and efficient system control. This workshop targets demonstration of LabVIEW for real time operation and control of systems. LabVIEW is the most widely used visual/graphical system-design platform and development environment for data acquisition, instrument control, and industrial automation. Arduino, an open-source hardware platform, is an easy to use, simple hardware, beginner’s first choice microcontroller development board. This workshop mainly focuses on simplifying the real time implementation of any system which needs embedded control to be done a graphical programing instead of coding. Arduino, open source hardware platform is interfaced with LabVIEW used to facilitate the implementation to acquire and generate real time signal and control. The workshop exposes the hands-on training to LabVIEW dealing withloops, arrays, clusters, signal creation and processing. Hands-on training session is planned with Sub VI, Data Processing, File I/O and integrating Arduino Real time Measuring and analysis with LabVIEW DAQ. This workshop integrates the above two powerful and industrial used platforms to practice implementing real-time applications. The workshop is suitable for beginners interested to start their work in the embedded. At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to interface Arduino with LabVIEW.
