Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA) and Amrita Centre for Research and Development (ACRD) will organize a Workshop on Simulation and Modelling of Vehicular Networks for Smart Cities using ONE Simulator on June 10, 2019.

This workshop will be of interest for UG ,PG students and Research Scholars  who are interested to work in the areas of mobile computing, Internet of Vehicles, Smart City Applications, Wireless networks,Intelligent Vehicle to Vehicle(V2V) and Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) Communication,Data Networking, Delay Tolerant Networks, Opportunistic Mobile Networks and particularly useful for people who wants to learn Network Simulation.

The focus of this Hands-On workshop is on the ONE (Opportunistic Network Environment) network simulator that could be used to implement & simulate several real world scenarios which involve Delay Tolerant Routing and Mobility Models in an urban scenario. There will be special lecture on “Internet of Vehicles for Smart Cities: Applications and Challenges” focusing on the challenges, research trends.

Topics to be Covered

  • Opportunistic Networks: Challenges and Research Trends
  • Internet of Vehicles (IoV)
  • Internet of Vehicles for Smart Cities : Applications and Challenges
  • Introduction of ONE simulator
  • Tutorials on using ONE simulator for simulating a typical real world scenarios & performance evaluation of existing routing protocols

The workshop will give you a glimpse into the nature of challenging work of practical societal relevance that goes at the research center. The Center has M. Tech. and Ph. D. programs in wireless and affiliated technologies in which the students get to work on many exciting inter-disciplinary system-level projects involving advanced hardware and software. Many of these funded projects are in collaboration with international institutions from around the globe and involve practical field deployments in the real world. These projects include IoT system for real-time landslide monitoring and early warning, affordable internet access in the deep sea for marine fishermen, wearable healthcare systems for continuous monitoring of vitals, IoT systems for smart infrastructures, etc. Do sign-up for this one-day workshop to get a sneak preview of the cutting-edge research activities at Amrita WNA.

The capacity is limited, so please hurry up!
