The Department of Physics, Amritapuri organised a three day lecture workshop on "Recent Trends in Physics" sponsored by the Joint Academic Programme of the three Academies of science in India, Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore; The National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad, and The Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi) from March 23rd to 25th, 2011.
The two day National workshop on ‘Analytical and Numerical Solutions of Non-linear Differential Equations,’ began on 18th March 2011. A total of 80 participants reported of which 34 were from outside Karnataka, and 46 from different parts of Karnataka.
A one day conference on Contemporary Issues and Thoughts in Management Research organized by the Amrita School of Business (ASB), Coimbatore on March 17, 2011. The conference attracted large number of participants including academicians, researchers and entrepreneurs from various functions of management. This served as a platform to share scholarly views on several important issues facing progressive organizations.
The first National Symposium on Shock Waves - NSSW 2011 was organized jointly by Amrita School of Engineering and Society for Shock Wave Research (India), Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. The event was hosted by Amrita School of Engineering, Bangalore on 15th March 2011 followed by a visit to laboratory for Hypersonic & Shock Wave research, IISc, Bangalore on 16th March 2011.
