Bio

Dr. Arya Aloor graduated from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, in 2007 with an MSc. degree in Biotechnology. She began her career as a Research Scientist in Biocon in 2007. Initially, she based her research on proteomics with the characterization and analysis of different therapeutic proteins, especially monoclonal antibodies, with various analytical techniques. In 2010, She got promoted to a senior scientist role and then started focussing more on the glycomics part of therapeutic biomolecules. Her research was on clarifying the functional and structural connections of different glycoforms on monoclonal antibodies. She spent an additional three years in the same group to develop various methodologies for identifying and analysing the N and O linked glycosylation on various therapeutic proteins. The exploration of analytical glycomics excited her to pursue her Ph.D. in glycobiology. She graduated from Georgia State University, Atlanta, the USA, in 2020. Her thesis focused on the mass spectrometry-based investigation of protein N-glycosylation in biomarker discovery and gene therapy. She independently created different logical methods for the proficient portrayal of glycosylation on proteins. In 2020, after completing her Ph.D. degree, she joined Dr. Lei Li’s Lab at Georgia State to proceed as a postdoctoral fellow. Afterward, she moved back to India and joined as a senior research scientist at Amrita School of Biotechnology in 2021. Her research interest is on Mass spectrometry-based glycomics and proteomics investigation of different biological samples.
