Bio

Dr. Lakshmi P. K. currently serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy, Amrita School of Pharmacy, Kochi. She has six years’ experience in teaching and has more than 6 years research experience, worked as JRF in a project entitled “Investigating the effect of some antioxidant rich herbal extracts on the expression of heat shock protein in obese and diabetic rats” funded by MPCST. She received her Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal. She has done her M.Pharm (Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry) at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi and B. Pharm at M.G. University, Kottayam, Kerala. She qualified GATE securing 95.82 percentile and was awarded with JRF during her M Pharm. Her areas of research interest include stress biology, standardization of herbal drugs and yeast-based screening assays of anti-inflammatory phytoconstituents.
