Dr. Neelam J. Upadhyay serves as Assistant Professor (Sr. Gr.) in the Department of Physics, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai Campus, since 2019.
She is a theoretical nuclear physicist and holds Ph. D. from the University of Mumbai. During her doctoral study, she was also a visiting student at the University of Helsinki, Finland. She did her postdoctoral studies in USA and later joined UM-DAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai, as a Visiting Scientist. In 2016 she was selected as one of the researchers nationwide to receive Research Grant under Startup Research Grant for Young Scientists program of Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India.
Her current research work complements contemporary research in nuclear physics that aims to understand the structure and composition of the Universe and its constituents.
