Bio

Dr. Sandhya V is an Assistant Professor of English at the department of English & Humanities, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. She joined Amrita in 2010. She holds a PhD in English literature from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Her PhD thesis titled “Sketching Contested Terrains: Gender in the Works of Kamala Das” looks into the intricacies of gender in the works of Kamala Das, exploring the philosophical, linguistic, psychological and physical dimensions of gender experiences. The thesis attempts a nuanced reading of gender in Kamala Das’ works within the framework of poststructuralist gender theories.
