Mr. Sivraj P joined Amrita School of Engineering in the year 2010. He is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Ettimadai, Coimbatore. His areas of research include Wireless Sensor Networks, Smart Grid, Robotics, Embedded System Design, RTOS and Automotive Electronics.
He obtained his B. Tech. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the year 2007 from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala (Saintgits College of Engineering) and M. Tech. degree in Embedded Systems in the year 2010 from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in the area of Sensor Networks applied to Smart Grid.
He has visited ICS Department of KTH University, Stockholm, Sweden from 20th May 2013 to 20th June 2013 and from 16th January 2014 to 31st January 2014 as part of the Indo-Swedish collaborative project between Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and KTH University funded by DST and VINNOVA in the area of Energy Management in Smart Grid using Embedded Systems.
He has guided 14 M.Tech. and 13 batch of B.Tech. students till now. He has to his credit 19 International Conference/ Journal publications. He has served as the steering committee member for the International Conference on Embedded Systems – ICES 2014, held at Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore. He has served as the reviewer for the various National and International events like TI-India-ADC 2011, TIIADC 2012-13, TIIEC 2013, TIIC-IADC 2014, ICES 2014, etc.
He has delivered several expert lectures and conducted many faculty development programs and student workshops in the area of Micro-controllers like PIC Series, ARM based, etc., and RTOS platforms like Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE 6.0 etc., and software platforms like MATLAB, LABVIEW, etc.
He has mentored various student teams who have achieved laurels in many national level competitions like
- “Low-cost conversion kit for automobiles” – by H. Sivaramakrishnan, Shanoop Padmanabhan and Sabarish Balakrishnan received Certificate of Appreciation and fourth place in ELECRAMA 2012, sponsored by the Ministries of Power; Commerce & Industry and Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, where around 800 student teams from the IITs, NITs, other engineering colleges as well as polytechnic institutions participated.
- “Wireless 3D Robotic Arm with Force Quantification using EMG” – by Akshayakrishna U., Dhananjayan P. S., Lohit L., Sabarinath S. and Shiva D secured third place (second runner-up) in the nation-wide Texas Instruments India Analog Design Contest 2011, where around 150 teams from other colleges across the nation participated.
