Mr. Vigneshwaran Muralidaran is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Chennai. He received his BTech degree in Information Technology from Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore. After working in Cognizant Technology Solutions for 3 years, he pursued his MS by Research from the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, where he worked on creating an annotation framework for parsing Dravidian languages and developed a full parser for Tamil language. His PhD studentship was fully funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, UK, as a part of the AHRC/ESRC funded project CorCenCC. The goal of his PhD research is to formulate an unsupervised, linguistically-motivated approach to grammar induction and develop a parser for Welsh language. His areas of interests are Linguistics, Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing, with focus on minority languages, especially in the Indian context. Currently, he is interested in creating parsing framework for code-mixed texts in Indian languages.
