The Nanosolar Division at Amrita Center for Nanosciences is one of the emerging centers (Center for Excellence) in the areas of photovoltaics and energy storage devices. Nanosolar 2012 was the first International workshp to be held at Amrita Center for Nanosciences, Kochi. Nanoslar 2012 aimed to bring together scientists, academic researchers, engineers, industrialists and students specializing in photovoltaics and energy storage devices to explore recent technical advances with state-of-the-art-technologies.
The effort was to identify outstanding innovations providing solutions to the existing problems. Hence, this workshop provided an opportunity to discover recent technical adances, exchange of ideas/experiences, and explore new alternatives while interacting with the technology pioneers. Nanosolar 2012 offerd a plenery talk by Dr. Michael Gratzel (Prof. at EPFL, Switzerland and winner of the Millennium Technology Prize 2010 for invention of dye-sensitized solar cells) and invited talks by eminent Indian Scientists.
