International Admissions Step #1: Review "How to Apply"

"All international students must apply through the International Admissions Online Registration Portal.

International students are welcome to apply for both full-time and part-time studies at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham: undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated degrees, dual degrees, exchange programs, internship programs, or Live-in Labs®.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants who have studied under a system different from CBSE / ICSE / State Boards, should obtain preferably ‘A’ grade (or equivalent) in an ‘A’ level examination or its equivalent. Students who have taken Advanced Placement (AP) course will get preference.
  2. Preference is given to Applicants who achieved a Higher Level (HL) in Physics, Chemistry, Accounts, Commerce, Computer Science, Biology, and Maths, and Standard Level (SL) standing in English A1, A2, or B, in an IB Diploma.
  3. Preference is given to applicants with Advanced Levels in Physics, Chemistry, Accounts, Commerce, Computer Science, Biology, Maths, and English with passes in 5 subjects at OL with high grades for GCE/ IGCE examinations of the approved British Examination Bodies in UK (University of Cambridge, Edexcel)
  4. Those Applicants must obtain an Equivalence Certificate for pursuing professional courses in India, from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, India.
  5. Foreign nationals (FN) must obtain a Student Visa endorsed to Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and should comply with all the conditions stipulated by Government of India with regard to admission.
  6. International applicants are exempted from appearing in the Amrita Entrance Examination (AEE).
  7. Admission is subject to the Applicants satisfying the eligibility norms fixed by the university, and seat availability.

Statement of Purpose / Project Proposal

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham requires a Statement of Purpose from all applicants, which will be used in the candidate selection process and direct admissions accordingly.

Must be 200-250 words, in a Word Document.

Required Documents

  1. Completed Application Form
  2. Statement of Understanding signed & dated by Applicant & their Parent/Guardian.
  3. Academic Records (Transcripts/ Certificated of Education)
    Secondary transcripts and post - secondary transcripts are required for undergraduate and graduate applicants, respectively.
  4. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    Please provide a comprehensive CV (Curriculum Vitae) detailing both your academic, volunteer and professional background
  5. Work Experience Certificate (if any)
  6. No Objection Certificate (if applicable)
    All international students wishing to undertake any research work or join a PhD or M. Phil. program @ Amrita, will have to obtain prior security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the approval of the Indian Department of Secondary Higher Education, the Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development. This documentation must be on the research visa endorsed to Amrita.
  7. Language Certificate
    All international students must submit an approved language certificate as proof that they have sufficient knowledge in English.
  8. Official Proof of Identity - Copy of Applicant's passport (personal details page)
    This document/certificate is required by the Host University (Amrita) during the selection process and will also be required for processing the student's Visa.
  9. References
    Recommendation Letter from the International Coordinator of the Home University or other academic reference.
  10. Bank Certified Check for Course/ Lab Fees (if applicable)
