The inauguration of the academic activities of the School of Arts & Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, for 2019 was held on June 26, 2019. The inauguration of Vidyamritam Extramural lectures (17th Annual Extramural Expert Lecture series) and activities of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was also held on the same day.
Swami Purnamritananda Puri, General Secretary, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, led the function. Dr. U. Krishnakumar, Director, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi Campus, welcomed the gathering. The chief guest, Sri. Venugopal C. Govind, CEO and MD, Varma & Varma Chartered Accountants, initiated the lamp lighting and delivered the inaugural address. Dr. (Col) Vishal Marwaha, Principal, Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi (AIMS) presided over the function. The Guest of Honour, Sri B. Jayachandran Nair, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Social Forestry, Ernakulam, offered felicitation. The chief guest launched the new academic handbook. Saplings were distributed to parents as part of CSR activities in the campus. Students who had vacation internships in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) Hospital and various departments were honoured for their services. Freshers and their parents were given comprehensive orientation to the institution. The inaugural ceremony concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Sony Vijayan, PGP Chair and Deputy Controller of Examination.
