The seven-day exhibition started from January 22 to January 28.
An initiative of The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA), IMTEX is a flagship event for the Indian Metal Cutting Industry. It is South and South-East Asia's apex exhibition showcasing the very latest trends as well as technological refinements from India & other global players. The mega event attracts visitors from a wide spectrum of manufacturing and ancillary industries starting with key decision and policy makers as well as industry captains who are keen to source latest technologies and manufacturing solutions for their production lines. IMTEX has come to symbolise a one-stop forum where customers can experience 'live' display of the products enabling them in the decision making process to enhance their manufacturing capabilities.
The 17th in the series IMTEX 2015 spearheaded a wide range of opportunities for everyone connected to metal-cutting, machine tool users, manufacturing experts, technocrats, researchers, policy-makers, academia and even budding engineers and technology graduates.
IMTEX 2015 saw over 900 exhibitors from 24 countries displaying more than 1000 machines ‘live’. The event showcased the exhaustive range of innovations and technological refinements in the complete product segment of metal-cutting machine tools.
Elated over the recognition, Professor Dr. Ganesha Udupa said “This is the successive second time we won the research Prize at IMTEX. We would like to thank all for their kind support, encouragement and assistance.”
“We are all grateful to our beloved Chancellor Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amma for providing such a nice environment to carry out a world class research work at Amritapuri campus. After winning the award, Amma encouraged our team and students saying, “We should indigenously develop and build hardware systems that will be beneficial to the society. We are very good in software development. We should also put effort in hardware development on our own and do not depend on other countries”. We sincerely pray that all our Amrita researchers to emulate this, bring laurels to the university, achieve the best in their lives and serve society with all their intellectual capabilities,” he summed up.
