AIMS Ties-up with The Heart Fund, Paris to Save Children with Heart Ailments

The Paris-based international charity organization, The Heart Fund, has collaborated with Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi to provide free life-saving open-heart surgeries and endovascular treatments for the poor in India. So far, 20 children have benefited from this program.

Drs. Devika R. Krishnan and Pallavi Chandran, Postgraduate Residents of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Amrita School of Dentistry bagged the Best Scientific Poster Awards at the 29th Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics and the 22nd Indian Endodontic Society National Conference held at the BM Birla Science and Technology Centre, Jaipur, Rajasthan during December 5-7, 2014.

Framing Light: Workshop on the Art of Advertising and Fashion Photography Offered by School of Communication

A two-day photography workshop was organized by Amrita School of Communication on the 10th and 11th of October, 2014. The resource person was Mr. S. Muthukumar, an expert in advertising and film photography. The event was designed to throw light upon fashion, advertising, industrial and product photography for all those who wanted an insight on the technical aspects of photography.  The main focus was advertising and fashion photography.

A yellow bus emblazoned with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham slowly navigated the bumpy roads of Attappadi. Abruptly it screeched to a halt and a frenzied search took place within as young people searched through boxes of clothes. A tribal woman with a small child and an elderly lady were standing along the road near the bus.
