Chairman of International Nano Technology NGO Visits Amrita

Dr. Millind Pimprikar, founder and chairman of CANEUS (Canada, Europe, US), an international organization that fosters the development of Micro-Nano-Technologies (MNT) for aerospace and defense applications, headquartered in Montreal (Canada),visited the Amritapuri and Kochi campuses of Amrita University from December 3rd - 4th, 2015. In his two day visit to the University, Dr. Pimprikar met with various professors and directors of research representing leading Amrita centers such as AMMACHI Labs, the Center for Cyber Security Systems and Networks, the Center for Research in Advanced Technologies for Education (CREATE), the Center for Nano Sciences and Molecular Medicine, the Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA), and the Center of Excellence in Advanced Materials and Green Technologies. Dr. Pimprikar also visited three research labs - WINSOC,  CREATE, and Fluid Mechanics - and gave two talks, one titled, "Leveraging International Partnerships for the Development and Implementation of Key Emerging Technologies" and the other on entrepreneurship at the Amrita School of Business, Amritapuri campus.

CANEUS International is a unique non-profit organization of professionals involving public/private partnership, serving primarily the needs of aeronautics, space and defense communities by fostering the coordinated, international development of MNT (Micro-Nano- Technologies) for aerospace and defense applications.

CANEUS is focused on the practical aspects of transitioning new and emerging technologies rapidly and efficiently from the concept to the system level. In achieving this goal, CANEUS brings together stakeholders (technology developers, aerospace end-users, governmental policy makers and investors) from across the world and creates a synergistic collaborative environment which is key to reducing developmental costs, time to market and global supply chain penetration.
