An exquisite engraving may be called an intaglio.
It wasn’t quite physical engravings, rather cherished memories that were etched into hundreds of hearts as Intaglio 2011, the Arts Festival of the Amrita School of Dentistry drew to a close.
Classical music, light music, folk song, classical dance, group dance – a variety of extracurricular contests were organized during the three festival days.
These days saw an active and overwhelming participation from students and faculty alike, as they came together to showcase talents and achievements.
The youthful playback singer, Mr. Franco, inaugurated on-stage events on January 20, 2011.
Sampoojya Swami Poornamritananda Puri, Dr. Prathapan Nair, Principal, Amrita School of Medicine and Dr. U. Krishnakumar, Director, Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, Kochi, were special invitees on the dais.
Joining them were Dr. K. N. Unni, Principal and Dr. Balagopal Varma, Vice Principal, of the Amrita School of Dentistry.
The inaugural function was followed by prize distribution for the literary and fine arts events. These events had set the wheels of Intaglio rolling in early January as budding writers and artists competed in events evocatively named Letterario and Artistico.
A theme video presentation followed.
The grand culmination on January 22, 2011 saw a cocktail of entertainment programs, interspersed with the prize distribution ceremony that celebrated winners.
