The Mass Communication Curriculum is based on the internationally-acclaimed UNESCO model. The infrastructure and service facilities include a modern broadcast studio and labs, student exchange programmes, internships - all geared to help students make a smooth transition from classrooms to the industry.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a University established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The University focuses on higher education and research in the areas of Engineering, Medicine, Management, Science, Education, Mass Communication and Social Work. The University has five campuses at Amritapuri (Kollam), Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Kochi and Mysore and around 15000 students studying in various disciplines.
Amrita School of Communication conducts a CAP Test (Communication Aptitude Test) every year at the Ettimadai campus to its 3 year B.A Mass Communication programme, 2 year M.A Communication programme and Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (PGDJ) offered at its Ettimadai (Coimbatore) campus.
Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria will be admitted to the first year of the 3 year B.A, M.A and PGDJ programmes, based on their performance in the CAP Test, Interview and Group Discussion (applicable only for M.A and PGDJ Programmes).
Admissions to doctoral programs in Communication at the campus are based on Common Entrance Test and Interview held twice a year.
