For the first time in Kerala, doctors at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi performed a complicated small intestine transplant surgery. The surgery gave back the life of 37 year-old Seena Shojan. "Though in ICU, Seena has recovered and is eating solid food, something she hasn't had for the last several months. But she will have to remain in the hospital for a couple of months," said Dr. Sudhindran S., Head, Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, AIMS, Kochi.
