Mata Amritanandamayi Math actively involved in providing relief to the families, who were affected in the rains that caused flooding in Kerala and helped people in distress across the state. Mata Amritanandamayi has announced Rs. 10 crore for the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF). Apart from the Mata Amritanandamayi Math’s monetary donation, physicians and specialists from the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Center (Amrita Hospital) in Kochi as well as the Amrita Kripa Charitable Hospitals in Kollam and Kalpetta have been sent to flood-ravaged areas. AYUDH (Amrita Yuva Dharma Dhara) chapter at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus has started 24X7 Compassionate Kerala Call Centre for Kerala Flood Relief and rescue operations. Several batches of 100 students and 30 faculty members worked in 3 shifts, 24x7 to support those in distress. Meanwhile, of the 40 Amrita Vidyalayam schools in the state, about 30 have become relief camps. They are providing shelter, food, clothing, toiletries and medical care.
