Higher air pollution levels in Urban India may be a major threat to a large population as it triggers pulmonary diseases such as asthma, warn experts on World Asthma Day. The Global Initiative on Ashtma has selected "You Can Control Asthma" as the theme for this year. Dr. Arun Nair, Chief of Interventional Pulmonary Medicine at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center (AIMS) at Kochi said, "Asthma is not curable but it can be treated effectively in a majority of cases owing to the advances in therapy."
