A gold nose stud of a 21-year-old woman was removed from her lungs by a medical team of Interventional Pulmonology at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. The gold stud went into her lungs inadvertently when she sneezed. Initially, she thought she had swallowed it. But a chest X-ray confirmed the position of the stud at the lowest part of her right lungs.
