As part of the World Heritage Day celebrations on April 18, ‘Amrita Darshanam,’ the Amrita Centre for Spiritual Studies, in association with AYUDH, the youth organisation of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, organised a lecture by archaeologist K. K. Muhammed who is also the former regional Director, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The aim of the programme was to promote awareness about the diversity of the cultural heritage of humanity, its vulnerability and the efforts required for its protection and conservation. Mr. Muhammed spoke on the topic ‘Protection of temples in the middle of challenges between Chambal dacoits and mining mafia.’
