Overview

“BDS Course is offered at Amrita School of Dentistry, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi. The course is recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI), New Delhi.

Selection and common counselling for admission is done by ADGME – MCC, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), New Delhi.

Qualifying & Eligibility Criteria

Admission of candidates is based on the centralized online allotment list published in the Medical Counselling Committee’s website (www.mcc.nic.in). NEET UG – 2022 qualified candidates who have been allotted to Amrita School of Dentistry by the MCC, New Delhi are eligible to report for admissions for the academic year 2022.

Selection & Counseling

Selection for BDS Admissions is based on the NEET UG – 2022 All India Rank (AIR). After NEET UG – 2022 results are published, candidates are advised to visit the MCC website for participating in All India Deemed University UG counselling conducted by the Directorate General of health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), New Delhi.

Candidates are advised to regularly visit the MCC website for latest notifications regarding counselling schedule / reschedules / counselling scheme and other updations after NEET-UG 2022 results. Candidates must also visit Amrita BDS webpage frequently for further instructions and guidelines regarding reporting for admissions.

Instructions and Guidelines for Allotted Candidates

 

Candidates who have been allotted seat in Amrita School of Dentistry, Kochi for BDS by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) through centralized common counseling, should report at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi on or before the last date of reporting as per MCC guidelines.

 

Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, the below Special Instructions are to be followed by candidates while reporting physically: –

  1. Candidates are requested to enter the Dental College building only.
  2. Candidates along with one Parent / Guardian must carry RTPCR Negative result while reporting to college.
  3. Candidates and Parent / Guardian should wear N-95 masks compulsorily.

NOTE: –

  • The above certificates mentioned in originals are mandatory and have to be submitted in original to Academics Office at the time of reporting for admission.
  • Candidates reporting for admissions with incomplete list of the above documents will not be allowed to undertake the admission procedure & will be rejected. The same will be intimated to DGHS.
  • Candidates who have deposited their original documents with any other Institute/ College/University and come for admission with a certificate stating that “their original certificates are deposited with the Institute / College / University” will not be allowed to take admission in allotted Dental College.
  • Candidates are advised to keep with them a softcopy/hardcopy of all the submitted documents for their future requirements.
  • On the day of reporting the candidates should mail the scanned copy of all the documents to dentaladminoffice@aims.amrita.edu

In addition to the above, NRI candidates are required to produce the below documents:

  • Documents claiming that the sponsor is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsor).
  • Relationship of NRI with the candidate as per the court orders of The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in case W.P.(c) No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Ans. Vs Union of India & Ors. dated 22-08- 2017.
  • Affidavit from the sponsor that he/ she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized.
  • Embassy Certificate of the Sponsor (Certificate from the Consulate).
  • NEET Score Card of the candidate.
  • Copy of passport and visa of the candidate (for Foreign Nationality)
  • Passport of the candidate / Visa of the Candidate / Resident Visa

ADMISSION CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

1 Candidate who joins through MCC allotment and then upgrades to the next round to another college. Cancellation procedure as per the DGHS/MCC Counseling Norms.
2 Candidate cancels admission (in any circumstance) leaving the seat vacant for the entire course duration First year Course Fees paid will not be refunded. In addition to this, residents should pay the Tuition Fees for the remaining course duration (as applicable to each course) as liquidated damages to the institution.

Admission to the above seat will be strictly on the basis of NEET 2021 – All India Rank (AIR).

Attention!!!
Candidates seeking admission to any of the courses at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are hereby warned against possible cheating by unscrupulous agents who may promise and assure seats by extracting large sum of money from the parents/candidates. Amrita has not appointed any such agents for canvassing candidates. Candidates should note that there is no provision for CAPITATION (or) DONATION fees towards admission in Amrita. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will not be responsible for the actions of such agents.

Candidates are advised to visit the MCC website www.mcc.nic.in regularly for all new notifications.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A candidate will be eligible for consideration under Stray Vacancy Admission to mandatorily register by sending an email to ugadmissions@aims.amrita.edu on or before 4th April 2022, Monday, 5:00PM.
  • Only those candidates whose name will be present in the list of candidates provided by MCC (www.mcc.nic.in) shall be eligible for the Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Once the list is published by the MCC, candidates registered with Amrita will be shortlisted based on the order of NEET – AIR.
  • The intimation for physical reporting for such candidates will be made through telephonic call/Email/SMS. The telephonic intimations will be only through the mobile no: +91-7994999585.
  • “CANDIDATES MUST BE PHYSICALLY PRESENT DURING THE TIME OF ADMISSION/VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS AT THE COLLEGE. ANY AUTHORIZED PERSON IN ABSENCE OF THE CANDIDATE WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED.”
  • CANDIDATES WHO DON’T REPORT ON TIME AS MENTIONED IN AMRITA WEBSITE OR REPORT WITHOUT MAKING THE FIRST YEAR COURSE FEE PAYMENT / WITH INCOMPLETE SET OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS SHALL NOT BE ADMITTED.
