Academics

The School of Arts & Sciences, Amritapuri, offers Master of Commerce (M.Com.) Program. 

Master of Commerce (M.Com) is a two year post graduate program comprising 4 semesters focusing on commerce, management and economics related subjects. The curriculum is usually concentrated on one subject area: such as accounting, actuarial science, business management, corporate governance, human resource management, economics, statistics, Enterprise Resource Planning, finance and marketing and emphasizes underlying theory. The program usually includes a thesis component and may be exclusively research based. The course serves the needs of academics as well and prepares students for research and teaching in business studies. The programme features a six- month internship program to aid students to explore the industry work scenario and gain experience and expertise in future careers.

Code Numbering:

Each course is assigned an 8-character Code number. The first two digits indicate the year of curriculum revision. The next three letters indicate the Department offering the course. The last three digits are unique to the course – the first digit indicates the level of the course (100, 200, 300, 400 etc.); the second digit indicates the type of the course, viz. 0, 1 and 2 indicate the core courses; 3,4,5,6 and 7 indicate the Elective courses; 8 indicates the Lab. or practical-based courses and 9 indicates Projects.
