The School of Arts & Sciences, Amritapuri offers M. Sc. in Physics program. 

The track record of the 2-year or 4-semester M.Sc (Physics) program at Amritapuri campus was immaculate since its starting in 2009. Of the several students who were successful graduates of this program, many have been well-placed and a few students have joined for the Ph. D. programs in prestigious institutions in India and abroad. 

A limited number of highly research oriented and motivated students are admitted for the M.Sc(Physics) at the Amritapuri campus every year. The minimum criteria for applying to this program is that student should have a minimum of 60% or equivalent. Short-listed candidates will be called for interview.

Students are required to earn 80 credits of which 10 credits are for a major project in their final semester. They are well trained in both in theoretical as well as experimental physics giving them a distinct advantage over others. Our teaching fraternity consists of both full–time international and national faculty mostly holding Ph. D.  The students are also trained in human values and service of society as envisioned by our philanthropic Chancellor, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.

In order to boost their career and train them for research, they are encouraged to publish a research paper. Interested students will be able to pursue internships during summer vacation as well as during their final year major project leading to master’s thesis. Every year, many of our final semester students go to both national as wells as international institutes of repute for their major project.
