Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) based DC-DC converters are widely used in industrial applications such as DC motor drives, computer systems, aerospace systems and communication equipment. PWM converters operating at low frequency have certain drawbacks, primarily- increased size and weight of the power supplies. Also, since PWM
converters are basically non-linear systems, they need to be averaged and linearized to obtain linear time-invariant models. Hence the design of high performance control for these converters is a challenging issue.
