This paper describes control and design of a new single phase dc-ac converter with soft switching operation. This converter operates with soft switching under discontinuous mode of operation. A snubber capacitor is connected to the dc terminals of a full bridge converter configuration, because of this snubber capacitor an additional switch is required to disconnect it from the dc side. A new control approach is used for the implementation of the proposed grid connecting converter. The closed loop control is simulated using PSIM smart controller. Voltage signal which are control parameter responsible for real power exchange from the renewable energy source to grid are considered in the simulation.
