This work attempts to design and implementation of a cost effective, smart energy management system (SEMS) for stand-alone micro-hydro system installed in a remote tribal village. Major tasks of the smart energy management system are voltage regulation of self-excited induction generator, wireless load management in micro-grid (micro-hydro system) and to increase the utilization efficiency of the system in real time by effective energy management strategy.
