• AMMACHI Labs (Amrita Multi Modal Applications and Computer Human Interaction)  is an academic and research center at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham that brings an interdisciplinary approach to addressing societal challenges through skill development and women empowerment.

  • The biomedical lab focuses on the Development of Low cost Biomedical Devices and Diagnostics for the management of Diabetes & Identification of Natural Product Lead molecules as Potential Modulators and Elucidation of Molecular Mechanisms Involved in Impaired Wound Healing in Diabetes.This state-of-the-art center was established in 2007 as a center of excellence under the national “Mission Reach” program, to develop knowledge and expertise in the field of biomedical science and engineering, and thereafter, to effectively utilize that knowledge in building low-cost electronic and mechanical biomedical devices and sensors.

  • Biosensor Research Laboratory was established with the mission of developing affordable biosensors for the early monitoring of diseases such as diabetes, cancer, coronory diseases, etc. With an experienced team spanning Engineers, Scientists and Physicians coupled with state of the art research facility, the center is strategically poised for product development and translation into specific products helping improve the lives of patients.

  • Amrita Center for Cyber Security Systems and Networks, located at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's Amritapuri Campus, promotes partnership between industry, academia and the government to foster innovative research and education in Cyber Security, thus enhancing knowledge, deriving solutions, benefiting society, and mitigating risks.  The center has drawn on the multi-disciplinary strengths of Amrita and its world-class faculty and researchers and created a synergistic collaborative foundation spanning a wide range of technologies, systems and users.  

  • India's first NANOBIO center, Amrita Center for Nanosciences & Molecular Medicine, established in February 2006, is recognised today as a leader in Nanotechnology, Molecular Medicine and Solar Cell research as well as education. The Center also hosts a Nanosolar Center for Excellence that focuses on innovative product development in photovoltaics and storage devices using nanomaterials. The Center is located at Amrita's health sciences campus that also has the Amrita Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy, in Kochi.
     

  • Amrita Center for Research in Advanced Technologies for Education (Amrita CREATE) is an educational technology initiative pioneered by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and is located at the Amritapuri Campus. CREATE applies innovative digital solutions to provide accessible and affordable educational technologies for all. The center aims to improve the quality of education for all with its innovative solutions that integrates research and practice. With a focus towards achieving this, the center strives to advance research on innovative pedagogy, architectural frameworks and implementations of both e-Learning and m-Learning systems with an emphasis on personalised assessment and learning.

  • Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (AmritaWNA) is a leading edge research center focused on the emerging fields of wireless netwrks, wireless sensor networks (WSN), wireless technologies including 3G, 4G,, and LTE.Guided by the Chancellor of the institution, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, AmritaWNA develops scientific and technological applications for practical humanitarian benefit.AmritaWNA integrates interdisciplinary research areas such as computer science, electronics and communication, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, information technology, geology, hydrology, environmental engineering etc., to develop cost effective solutions to solve common man's problems.

  • Amrita e-Learning Research Labs (AERL) aim to empower people through digital means of distance education and social collaboration. AERL addresses lack of highly qualified and experienced teachers in institutes of higher education to empower young startups in their journey to full-fledged business organizations, provides free tuition programs to college students in order to enhance their knowledge and job prospects and provides free e-learning tools to schools and vocational training institutes.

  • Amrita TBI came into existence in the year 2008 as part of a joint initiative by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Department of Science and Technology, India.Amrita TBI fund, incubate and nurture both technology and social businesses in various domains such as Information Technology, Cyber-Security, Networking, Telecom, Wireless, Mobile, Cloud computing, Social Media, Biotechnology, Social issues, Health Care, Environment and Energy & Power. Funding is provided through loan and equity to prospective companies through the Department of Science and Technology (DST) - Technology Development Board(TDB) program and Department of Electronics and Information Technology - TIDE program.

  • The Center came to life on May 17th, 2003 at Coimbatore campus. What initially began as a small group of people focused on research gradually blossomed into a strong center that apart from offering post graduate program, also began taking up challenging projects from various institutions like ISRO, BARC, DRDO and IT Ministry of India.At CEN, the faculty members encourage the students to be “thinkers, tinkerers and makers”, so that they can tune their education to the needs of the society.

  • Center of Excellence in Advanced Materials and Green Technologies (COE-AMGT) is engaged in research and development activities in the broad areas encompassing the individual developments in, or an integration of, advanced materials and green technologies based on material synthesis, material characterization, material modification, and innovative methodologies of application. The center is also engaged in fundamental experimental and theoretical research aimed at gaining an in-depth understanding of the complex interactions between materials and their environments of application

  • Amrita Center for Computational Neuroscience has been instituted to comprehend the brain and its neural circuits by devising mathematical models. In contrast to other fields in biology, mathematical thinking and methodology have become entrenched in neuroscience since its very beginning, as witnessed by the classical work of Hodgkin and Huxley. Indeed, important developments in mathematics, and particularly in statistics (for example, point processes theory), have their roots in this field. One of the biggest open challenges mathematicians and engineers face, is understanding the complex computation that takes place in our brain.

  • The dedicated Research lab, HuT Labs - ( Humanitarian Technology Labs) mainly focusing on Health Care, Robotics, Human Aided Devices, and Embedded Sensor Networks is headed by Prof. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam, of the department, was established in 2012. Within a year of establishment, HuT Labs carried out significant research works with more than 10 research paper publications and quite national and international recognitions. Hut Labs also acknowledges the contribution of IEEE Foundation and IEEE SEC both in NJ, USA for their support to our research work.

  • The Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, launched Mission REACH (Relevance and Excellence in Achieving New Heights in Educational Institutions) in 2000 as a part of its Technology Vision 2020 objectives. Under the Mission, Centres of Relevance and Excellence (COREs) have been set up in academic institutions to enrich the knowledge of professionals in emerging areas of science and technology.
