OBJECTIVES

  • Integrate the project sensor network technology with existing analysis infrastructure for services provision.
  • Deploy and evaluate the performance of the sensor network developed by the project in two real scenarios, in CZ and India, to assess the advantages from the end-user perspective in terms of effectiveness, reliability and accuracy of the provided services.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

  • Pre-deployment: starting from the sensor nodes prototypes developed in WP5, the objective is to integrate the deployment plan for the proof-of-concept with the key issues from the end-user-perspective. The pre-deployment phase will include the performance assessment by simulation
  • Infrastructure integration: integrate sensor network technology with existing infrastructures at ANTRIX-AMI and at CCSS. The formers will contribute with existing analysis infrastructures, the latter (CCSS) will use its own resources and  resources from its members (The Forest Management Institute, and members of the Lesprojekt, and WirelessInfo projects) under 3rd Party agreements. The goal of the integration is also to incorporate the handling of IP and GIS infrastructures with a technical approach integrating the different methods of on-line data analysis, through the building of a comprehensive wireless knowledge platform, a model for Ambient Mobile Intelligence (AMI) for the emergency situation.
  • Deployment: the tests will employ the following technologies to be used in the validation tests: WINSOC nodes prototypes from WP5; IEEE 802.11b sensor networks, 434 MHz – 868 MHz RFID sensors, IEEE 802.15.4 Zigbee. The goal is to give a quantitative benchmarking comparison between the WINSOC prototype nodes and the already available prototypes in the applications of interest for the end-.users, namely fires and landslides detection. Specific attention will be given to network scalability and reliability of the technology, which is of paramount importance to the end-user community. A specific small scale demonstrator for fire detection will be developed in this WP.
  • End-user testing technology transfer to the EU context: In this task, AMRITA will transfer the software and the controller modules together with the test specifications to realise a selected proof-of-the-concept in the EU context. These tests will be selected from the extensive tests performed in Indian scenario and the relevance to the overall context of the project.
