Over the years Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has developed working relationship with many of the best universities in the world. Amrita Center for International Programs plays a developmental, strategic and co-coordinating role in the institution's International work, seeking to provide quality support both internally and externally.

Strong collaboration with national and international organisations is the hallmark of all research carried out at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and to this extent we have developed a broad range of international partnerships around the world. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is putting in place a range of institutional links which support key international activities such student exchanges, Dual –Degrees, Remote teaching , the development of joint academic programmes, Co-guiding the PhD students, high-end research collaboration and other collaborative initiatives.

Relationships with a Range of Industrial Partners

Amrita has been engaged in a multitude of R&D activities in the core areas of computing and communication. Apart from the collaboration with leading Universities, it also has more than fifty industry partners – the leaders in their respective fields. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has attracted the partnership of the Indian Science Research Organisation (ISRO), the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), the Defence Research Development Organisation(DRDO) and foremost Universities of the United States and Europe.

The researchers are currently working on about a hundred major projects. Schools research fields cover robotics, data security systems, telematics, vehicle tracking systems, wireless sensors (in collaboration with the European Union), biomedical technology, telemedicine, VLSI, computers. They have initiated joint research with BARC, DRDO and the TIFAC have undertaken a broad range of research vital to India’s national interests.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has always given paramount importance to research. Amrita is a partner in various international bilateral governmental research programmes and initiatives, such as Indo-US Initiative (Cyber Security, Cyber Crimes, & Cyber Forensics), Indo-European Union (Erasmus Mundus, India4EU programs), Indo-Japan Initiative in Wireless Networks & Applications, Indo-Brazilian bilateral programme on Wireless Networks and Techniques with Applications to Societal Needs, Indo-Italy bilateral Science and Technology Co-operation in Robotics, and Indo-Brazil programme in Nanomaterials for Renewable Energy.

 

Many centres of excellence have been started in cutting-edge areas like Wireless Networks & Applications, Cyber Security, Computational Engineering & Networking, Virtual Labs, E-learning, Haptics, Educational Technologies, Nanosciences & Molecular Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Cancer Prevention & Cure, Biostatistics, and Environmental Sciences and so on.

These research initiatives have the support of major national laboratories, industry leaders and agencies like TIFAC, DST, ISRO, DIT, DRDO, Microsoft, HP, Infosys, MDS Pharma and Biocon to name a few. Amrita is also a partner in the Indian government‘s Ministry of Human Resource Development‘s National Mission for Education using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for various national projects in haptics, virtual labs, Educational Resource Planning, Natural Language Processing and interactive e-learning systems.
