Amrita Celebrates Antimicrobial Awareness Week

As an initiative to increase awareness on global Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), as well as to encourage best practices among the general public, and health workers to stop the further emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections, *WHO has declared November 18-24 as the Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW).

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between U-Hopper Srl (an Italian company developing Big Data Analytics and AI solutions) and Amrita Center for Research and Development (ACRD). The collaboration engages the work of Dr. Shyam Diwakar, Associate Professor at Amrita School of Biotechnology, on a study about the analysis of virtual lab data using Machine Learning.

Amrita Invited to Belgium Embassy's Sustainability Event with KU Leuven Delegation

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was recently invited by His Excellency François Delhaye, Ambassador of The Kingdom of Belgium to India, to join Prof. Gerard Govers, Vice-Rector, KU Leuven University, and the delegation from KU Leuven. On January 6, 2020, Dr. Shyam Diwakar joined the round table on sustainability and universities at the Ambassador's residence in New Delhi.
