Prof. Shyam Diwakar gave an expert talk titled "Computational Neuroscience of Circuit Function and Dysfunction: a Cerebellum Perspective" at the at the XXXIV Annual Meeting of Indian Academy of Neurosciences (IAN) held at National Brain Research Center, Manesar, India from October 19-21, 2016.

Amrita School of Biotechnology's Bioinspired robotics study titled "Using Cerebellar Architecture to Control Low-Cost Robotic Arms" was presented as an invited talk by Dr. Shyam Diwakar at the International Symposium on the Neuromechanics of Human Movement, 4th–6th October 2016 organized by University of Heidelberg, Germany.

Dr. Ananda K. Sarkar, Scientist from National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR) in New Delhi and a specialist in plant stem cells, visited Amrita School of Biotechnology on August 12th and spoke to the students and faculty about his work.

Bioinformatics -The Future of Big Data Analysis

Amrita School of Biotechnology (ASBT) was honored to have Prof. Jaap Heringa, an Adjunct Professor at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Professor of Bioinformatics from VU Amsterdam to enlighten us with a two-day seminar on not just the basics of bioinformatics, but also the applications of this novel field.
