Amrita Teams in Top 10 at Ni-Yantra

Imagine this. When a blind person goes shopping to buy essentials, he or she can carry a small device with them that can help them see. Pointed at a particular object, the device can capture its image, read what is written on it, and convert this text to Braille, so that the blind person can immediately understand what the object is.

Arjun Menon, Sanju Sajan and Abhinav R., second-year students of B. Tech. (Mech.) from Amrita’s Coimbatore campus were awarded the first prize in the Aero Modeling Competition conducted as part of the Convention of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

Amrita Student Participates in 2009 JavaOne Conference

Avinash Joshi is a final-year B. Tech. student of Information Technology at the Amritapuri Campus. In June 2009, Avinash was chosen as the only student from India to attend the JavaOne 2009 Developer Conference in San Francisco, his travel and participation expenses fully sponsored by Sun Microsystems. Amrita Wins in TGMC 2008

Engineering students from the Amritapuri campus Varun Ramani, Amreth C., Ajith and Aravind R. placed first among all colleges in Kerala and sixth among all colleges in India in the 2008 Great Mind Challenge Contest. The contest saw participation from over 15000 teams from all over India.

National Science Day Celebrations at Amritapuri Campus

All four Schools on the Amritapuri Campus came together today, in enthusiastic celebrations of National Science Day. Educational institutions all over India commemorate this anniversary of the discovery in physics that won India its first ever Nobel Prize in Sciences, some eight decades ago.
