• The first use of the rescue robots was actually during the World Trade Centre(WTC) collapse in 2001 though the research was going on this field in the past for many years. The main goal of these robots is to reduce the number of deaths during disasters by surveying the areas in which humans are not permitted until the fire is off.

  • The autonomous floor cleaning robot is designed to sweep and collect the dust and mop the room as well. The sweeping of the floor and collecting the dust happens one after the other followed by mopping the room. The intelligent mechanism added to the robot can identify and avoid obstacles while cleaning the robot. The autonomous algorithm, which is part of the design, takes care of operating the robot autonomously inside the room.

  • The main aim of the work is to analyse, characterize and validate the parameters involved in the system models of the SWIPT enabled Energy Harvesting Wireless Networks. The parameter under this study involves average Energy Harvested, average downlink rate, sensor control signal and Interference. The system model with Fusion Centre and sensors are analysed and respective problem is formulated using BLUE estimation technique.

  • Driver inattention is a major contribution to highway crashes. The NH Traffic Safety Administration estimates that at least 25% of crashes involve some form of driver inattention. Distraction occurs when a driver is delayed in the recognition of information needed to safely accomplish the driving task.

  • Rural women are often a marginalized group when it comes to bringing in a sustainable income for the family. They are often overlooked when it comes to opportunities for skill development and life enrichment initiatives. This project seeks to understand the ground realities and pain points faced by women and explore possible avenues for sustainable skill development.

  • Modelling the changing behavior of a user is done by defining a user context for personalized services. Though many parameters have been identified to sense the context of a user automatically by a mobile device, identifying the right semantic context is still a challenge. Towards better defining user context for context aware mobile applications, this work proposes models for smarter context detection, a multidimensional evolutionary ontology, dynamic user profile generation, and a mapping of context and user preferences using a regression model.

  • A variety of traditional occupations exist in rural communities and residents depend on those occupations to earn a living. However, with more awareness about market segments, pricing, and updated methods, some occupations can become more lucrative, leading to a better standard of living for villagers. This particular project focuses on working with women from the village's Self Help Groups (SHGs) to help increase their earning capacity.

  • Reading is essential in today’s society. Printed text is everywhere in the form of reports, receipts, bank statements, restaurant menus, classroom handouts, product packages, instructions on medicine bottles. The ability of masses who are blind or have significant visual impairments to read printed labels and product packages will enhance independent living and foster economic and social self-sufficiency.

  • Design and Control of Myo-Electric Prosthetic Arm - To design and manufacture a myoelectric controlled prosthetic arm for trans-radial and wrist disarticulated amputees

  • Traffic Sign recognition systems are used for increasing the road traffic safety by helping drivers gain better awareness of the road and its potential hazards, which automatically alerts and informs the driver about the nearby traffic signs on the roads. In this paper, a real time sign detection and recognition system is proposed for Indian traffic signs.

  • The project titled "Analysis of Seepage Induced Soil Mass Movements and Stabilization using sand Drains" is funded by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Mr. R. Ramkrishnan is the Principal Investigator of the project.

  • The project titled "Experimental Investigation on Structural Integrity Assessment of Dome Shaped Roof Slab of future SFRs", is funded by BRNS. The investigator of the project is Dr. M. Ramu.
